5 October 2023 Slept so well. Dreams and comfort and a feeling of being so fortunate to be here. This morning I woke before my alarm to the singing and then village news being broadcast over a loud speaker. Birds and insects are out in full force. There are two doves in the tree out my window. On the first day I was disappointed by my view from the balcony, if I’m being honest. I’ll be honest. There are large plastic barriers surrounding a new build next door. This morning I watched a dove present itself to another dove and I thought, “Ahh, Heavenly Father knows me well.” 9:53am I missed my first class. Shit. I ran over to the dining room to get another coffee and met a woman named Erika. She was not happy. Angry at first because this place “is not luxury” and then slowly became more teary eyed.
